Caprese Salad

This is an absolute favourite and when you can pull tomatoes off the plant in the garden to make it… nice. In fact,  this is the only reason you need to have tomato plants. It is also super easy to put together.

All you need:

sliced heirloom tomatoes

Sliced Black Krim and Old German heirloom tomatoes straight from the garden

Bocconcini (fresh mozzarella) – make sure to get the medium to large size
Good quality Olive Oil
Balsamic Crema or very good quality, aged balsamic vinegar

  1. Cut 1/4″ slices for both the tomatoes and the Bocconcini.

tomatoes with basil2. Place a basil leaf on each tomato slice and the bocconcini on top of that.
